Myopia Control

Girl wearing glasses with eye chart
Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, makes it hard to see far away. Myopia control is a field that focuses on how to slow down the progression of myopia.

Does your child's prescription keep going higher and higher? Do you or your spouse have a very high nearsighted power and worried about your kids increasing to the same?

New Research shows that there are a few ways to slow down the prescription:

1. Multifocal Lenses
2. Atropine Ophthalmic Drops
3. Corneal Refractive Therapy
4. Hard Contact Lenses

Dr. Shah can go over all options and recommend the best suited for your child.

For Myopia Control treatment to work the best, it is imperative to bring your child in for the first eye exam at an early age. We recommend if problems are noted at 3 months of age. If no problems are noted, we would recommend the first eye exam set before school starts (3 years of age).
